BoxyCharm Subscription Box- August 2016

A few weeks ago, I signed up for a subscription service called BoxyCharm.  It's a monthly subscription service that is $21 a month and my first shipment was the August box.  It came in a matte black box that fit right inside my mailbox.

Inside was a description card that listed all of the items included in the box and the retail cost of each item.  Each month has a theme and this one was "Express Yourself".  I ordered right before the cutoff for next month's box, which I believe caused me to receive some different items than others received.

 I received the following:

OFRA Professional Magnetic Makeup Palette  $58

Aloette Time Repair Serum  $48

Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick  $10

Makeup Eraser AmpliMascara  $23

Tatcha Petal Fresh Original Aburatorigami $12

I was really pleased with the items that I received and impressed with the size and quality.  Most of these will be put to good use by me or I will give them to family and friends.  I can't wait for September's box to arrive!  How did you like this month's box?  Let me know in the comments what you thought or check out my BoxyCharm Unboxing Video on YouTube and let me know there.

If you don't subscribe, below is my referral link. I will get some charms to use towards items purchased on the BoxyCharm site if you decide to use it.

Peaches and Petals Subscription Box- August 2016

I have been trying out several subscription boxes lately to see how they compare.  My son had given me a subscription to Birchbox awhile back and I really enjoyed that one.  So today I am going to share with you what I received in my August Peaches and Petals subscription box!

I wasn't sure what to expect, as the website said their items fit into the "lifestyle category".  Each month has a theme, which they divulge beforehand.  This month's theme was "Thank You for Being a Friend" and the items truly reflect the theme.

Peaches and Petals includes a card that lists all of the items in the box, however, no retail value is given. On the back of this card they explain how to enter their monthly contest on social media.  This month's prize is a custom canvas of your favorite picture. I am going to include some price estimates based on some Google searches and will have put them in parentheses.  Here are the items that I received:

Mannakadar Split Pan Bronzer and Highlighter Duo  (best guess value $21 @ mannakadarcosmetics.com)

Cute Fox Headphone Splitter!  (best guess value $9 @ Accessory Geeks)

Anchor Necklace  (best guess value $10)

5-pk Golden Girls Note Cards (best guess value $7)

Friendship Wood Picture Frame with Quote (best guess value $9 on Amazon)

Motivational Quote Decal  (best guess value $2)

Also included was an informational card explaining a subscription service for your dog (!) that includes a free pet bed with your first box.

Peaches & Petals also sends out emails with box add-ons that you can purchase and not pay any additional shipping.  I decided to add-on these great Salad To Go sets.  They were a set of 2 for $5.99.  I so needed these for my work lunches now that I am on Weight Watchers.

My best guess for the total value of items in this box is $58, which isn't bad for a $20 box. I'm keeping the Mannakadar Duo, the fox headphone splitter and the decal.  The remaining items in this months box are going to be put aside for gifts for people that I know will love them

This box is $19.99 a month but there are often coupon codes available for discounts off of your first box or for a free item.  Here is my affiliate link if you would like to order your own box. Peaches and Petals Subscibe (I will receive compensation if you choose to use my link.)

You can watch my unboxing of the August box on YouTube here Peaches & Petals Unboxing Video.

Check out next month's theme "Cuteness Overload".  I can't wait!
